Saturday Jul 18, 2026 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Location

containR Art Park in Inglewood

Springboard Performance is pleased to commission Calgary-based multidisciplinary artist Harvey Nichol to create a series of large-scale murals for containR, our vibrant new arts park and community gathering space in Calgary's Inglewood community.

Rendered in Nichol's signature linocut-inspired style, the murals will bring a bold and cohesive visual identity to the containR site. As the project expands across multiple containers, you will be able to immerse yourself in Harvey's imagined world, where the artwork will also celebrate the community and diverse artistic disciplines that animate the space, including dance, music, performance, and community gatherings.

Through this commission, Springboard Performance continues its commitment to supporting public art that reflects the diversity, creativity, and cultural richness of Calgary. Harvey Nichol's work embodies these values, creating opportunities for connection and storytelling while transforming containR into an even more vibrant and welcoming public space.

Please join us on July 18th for a community celebration where you can watch the artists paint their finishing touches!

Featured Artists

  • Harvey Nichols · Artist

Harvey Nichol is a Manila-born, Calgary-based multidisciplinary artist who fuses street art motifs, social themes and folklore into a distinct style he calls “social-folk-expressionism. Known for his murals, comics, sculptures and installations; Nichol seamlessly translates his visual storytelling by any medium necessary. Fusing aerosol paint, physical fabrication, and cultural narratives, his work creates a bridge between personal heritage and the collective urban experience.

    • Siwon Kang · Artist

Born in South Korea, Siwon Kang developed a passion for art at a young age, inspired by her mother, an artist herself. After moving to Canada at fifteen, she continued to develop her creative practice and later studied Printmaking, Jewelry and Metals, where she deepened her understanding of craftsmanship, material exploration, and graphic design. Her work is rooted in personal narratives, cultural heritage, and observations from everyday life, translated into thoughtful and detailed visual forms.

      • Katya Wootliff · Artist

Katya Wootliff also known as K is an interdisciplinary artist working across mixed media painting, sculpture and tattooing. Her fine arts practice explores new materialism using a craftivism approach by reimagining discarded materials as sites for renewal to bring forth concerns around ecological precarity. Working alongside her studio practice, she creates symbolic blackwork tattoos using the body as a canvas for intuitive storytelling and meaningful energetic exchange. She is excited to bring this creative perspective into collaborative public art through mural work.

        • David Park · Artist

David Park is a tattoo artist for six years, and has developed a passion rooted in traditional storytelling through the ink, and bold visual design. He works in his private studio and is excited to contribute to this mural project in one of his favorite neighborhoods in Calgary, where he continues to explore the intersection of skin craft and contemporary art through interpersonal narratives and the energy of the city.
